Tough fishing again today. We fished south setting up in 120 feet of water. We hit a good fish on a 225 copper with a regular size DW Green Skinny Jeans. It fought for a while and won. It got away. We didn’t have any more bites so we put it on a west troll and headed for deep water. We took the Steelhead pictured on a Yeck Wart Frog 65 down on an out down. That was our last bite for the trip until were pulling lines. We boated a small Steelhead on a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Fire Ball. We started the morning in 120 feet of water and finished in 530 feet of water.
We fished south and out deep today between 260 and 400 feet of water. We covered a lot of water and took 3 fish. Yesterday all our bites came on spoons. Today no spoon bites. We took a Lake Trout on a low wire diver out 165 with an 8″ While Slick Spin Doctor/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly. The big King came on a 300 copper with a 10″ Yellow Sparkler Spin Doctor/Cold Steel Meat Rig and the smaller King came on a high wire diver out 200 with a 10″ UV Showtime Spin Doctor/Living The Dream Dreamweaver Meat Rig. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs, Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods & Morgan’s wire on all our wire rods.
Fished south again today setting up in 120 feet of water. We took 2 fish early. We took a King on a mag glow spoon on a 225 copper and a nice Coho on a 175 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Green Skinny Jeans. We marked some bait near the surface and a few fish but the large schools of bait we saw yesterday were gone. We didn’t have any more bites so we headed west for deeper water. We trolled for 3 miles without a bite then we took the King pictured above on a 225 copper with a UV Blue Dolphin Super Slim. We took a Steelhead on a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Fireball. We hit a big fish in he middle of a turn on a 225 copper with a Yeck 66 Lighting spoon. It ran out a lot of line, got tangled in one of our cores, and got off. All our bites today came on coppers & cores.
Finally back on the water. We fished south today setting up in 110 feet of water. We had most of our rods set when the chute rigger set at 60 ft. took a bite. The 2 year old King took a regular size Dreamweaver EVM spoon stacked 15 ft. above a Spin Doctor/Fly and we landed it. It wasn’t too long when we hooked 2 Coho’s on the same rod with a pair of Super Slim Super Bread spoons on an out down. The main bait was 35 ft. down and the other was free sliding above it. We got 1 and lost the other at he net. We took another young King on a 7.5 color core with a Wonder Bread Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. The morning was starting out well. We were marking lots of bait and a few fish but our action died. We trolled out to 180 feet of water and back in to 120 feet of water with no more bites. We turned back out on a northwest troll and took a nice King on a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig out 235 on a high wire diver. While we were fighting the King we took a Laker on the bottom with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Blue Chrome WhirlyGig with glow wings. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs, Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods and Morgan’s wire on all our wire rods.
