The fish were biting today at Ludington. We got an early start and headed up north. We ran to the 02’s and set up in 100 feet of water. Our first rod down was a White 12″ Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We were going to set it at 85′ but a big King hit it before it could get there. The bite was on! Our out downs were set at 95′ & 85′ and the chute rigger with the big White Paddle was down 85′. We ran four wire divers. The highs were out 180′ & 185′ and the lows were both set at 150′. It took a while for us to get any cores or coppers out. We ended up running two 10 colors cores, a 300, and a 350 copper. We had a regular size DW Wonder Bread on one out down and a 8″ White Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly on the other one. We had glow spoons free sliding above them both. A mag Fuzzy Bear Modified Blue Dolphin on a high wire was very good and the same spoon in the regular size was hot on a 10 color core. An 8″ Mountain Dew Spin Doctor/Mountain Dew Strong Fly on a low wire took several nice Kings. We ended up sliding out off the bank and took most of our fish between 130 & 150 feet of water. We were headed back to port at 8:30 a.m. with a tired but happy crew.
