We fished up north again today and it was good. We didn’t leave the dock until 6:00 a.m. but the bite was still on when we set up in the high 02’s. It was mostly a spoon bite early. Our low wires with flashers & flys that were hot yesterday didn’t take many fish this morning. A pair of regular size Dreamweaver Superbread spoons on an out down was our best rod again today. We would let the main bait down to 25 ft. then throw on the other bait and let it free slide as we lowered them down to 80 ft. We got just as many bites on the slider as we did on the bottom bait. We trolled north fishing between 120 & 160 feet of water. Our action slowed when we got into the 04’s so we turned back south. We had a hard time getting bites on that troll until we put in a sea anchor and slowed down. We raised our out downs up to 55 & 65 feet and put out some meat rigs. This was the ticket for us. Big Water Tackle’s new Blue Moo Meat Rig behind a 10″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor went twice today on a 350 copper. A Big Water Moo Moo/10″ Black and Green Spin Doctor on a low wire out 150′ went three times. We also took several more fish on our out downs after we raised them. Our big White Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Paddle only took one fish today, a nice Laker. We hit fish on our full cores, a 200 copper and a 350 copper. By the time we got to the 00’s we had our fish.
