Not having any current info on fishing, we set up just off the bank in 120 feet of water. The surface temp was 57, and it was 48 down 60 feet on our Fish Hawk. The down temp cooled to 42 the further north we trolled. Almost all our rods were set when the port 250 copper with a Mini Lucky Charms DW Plug took off. After a good fight we boated a mature King. The starboard 7.5 color core with an SS Burnt Bloody Nose took a big Coho. Starboard 225 copper went once with a DW Soda.
The bite was pretty steady most of the trip.
Port 5 color with a Fire Ball went once. Starboard 3 color went twice with a SS Steelie Stomper. Starboard 5 color went 3 times with a Silver Goat Spoon. Starboard 7.5 went once with an SS Soda and 2 times later with an SS Rodman. Starboard 10 color went once with a SS Hot Tamale. Port High Ninja Diver out 150 went once with an 8″ White Charlie Special Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and one later with an 8″ Orange Slice Spin Doctor/Mirage Action Fly with Black Beads.
Port low wire out 100 went once with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high Ninja Diver out 110 went once with a Silver Goat Spoon. Port out down set at 60 went twice with a DW Wonder Veggie and an SS Wonder Veggie free sliding. Both fish took the free slider. Starboard out down set at 50 went once with a pair of SS Veggies. A Steelhead took the free slider. We might have missed a couple port side board bites, but it is hard to keep track of all of them.
We had a family out this morning, and they did a great job on the rods. We ended up with 7 Steelhead, 6 Coho, and 5 Kings. This was our last scheduled trip for the season. We are leaving the boat in, weather permitting, until at least October 20. We believe there are still a lot of fish to be caught, so if you would like to get out and give October fishing a try call us at 231 425-8723.
We use and recommend Nova Tackle Deep Water Series Trolling Rods, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, Divers, & Premium Strips, and Magnum MetalZ Downriggers & Copper.
