We ran southwest of Ludington today and shut down when the surface temp started to drop. It was 57 degrees where we set up in the 39’s west. We hit a Steelhead right away on a 3 color core with a Super Slim Double orange Pearl spoon. The surface temp started to drop rapidly in the 40’s west. We were in the 52’s south. A Slide Diver out 90 with a 35 ft. lead took a King on a SS Super Bread spoon. We were going to turn when the temp was 43 degrees, but we started hitting fish in that colder water. Some of the boats fishing in the same general area were taking fish in the warmer water, 54 to 47, but our best action came in the colder, 41 to 43, degree water. We hit fish on 2, 3, 5, & 7.5 color cores. Our Slide Divers out 80 & 90 were good. We only had 1 rigger bite. A 13.5 lb. Steelhead took a mag size Hello Darlan Fuzzy Bear spoon stacked 12 ft. above a Tin Can Dodger 100 down on the chute rigger. It was 38 degrees down there. We didn’t run any meat today and had no bites on our low mono divers. Most of our bites were on Super Slim Spoons with the Double Orange Pearl and the Steelie Stomper being the best. We worked between the 40’s to the 43’s west and the 53’s to 50’s south. We ended up with 3 Lakers, 4 Kings, and 4 Steelhead for a total of 11 fish. I took a group picture of our catch with my camera, but didn’t have the memory card in.
