After yesterdays strong southwest winds we weren’t sure what to expect as we headed south to the Lake Trout grounds. We had a pleasant surprise. There were rollers coming from the south but other than that it was fairly calm and not at all hard to fish. We had good action all morning. We hit 14 fish and boated 12 of them. Our wire divers took 12 of our 14 bites. We took 2 Lakers on our chute rigger with an 8″ Gold Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot Spin-N-Glo. We had that same rig on our starboard low wire and it went a couple times there. We had an 8″ White Crush Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot Spin-N-Glo on a high wire diver and the same Spin Doctor trailed by a White Red Dot WhirlyGig on our port low wire. Our port high wire was an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Fire Tiger WhirlyGig. We had 3 boards out on both sides of the boat but no bites on any of them.
