Fished up north yesterday on the Bank with a friend and we did real well, lots of bait & fish between 90 & 120 fow so we headed back up there this morning. We got a little late start leaving the dock at 6:30. The temp was 50 degrees top to bottom up there yesterday. Today, after the north wind blowing all night, it was 48 on the surface and 39.9 down 90 feet. We set up in 110 fow in the low 01’s and trolled north working between 90 & 110 fow. The bait and fish that were so plentiful yesterday were gone. We didn’t get our first bite until we were in the 02’s. It was a small Laker on a 11″ White Dreamweaver Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly 75 down on the chute. We hate to throw back the first fish of the day but it was only 18 inches long and had to go back. We hit a nice King 55 down on an out down with a Yeck Wart Frog, but it got away. We started marking some bait & fish in the high 02’s and the action picked up. A 5 color core with a glow spoon took a king and a 3 color core with a Dreamweaver SS Steelie Stomper took a Steelhead. Both our high wire divers went. We took a King on a 10″ Mountain Dew/Cold Steel Big Water Meat Rig out 170 and a Laker on the same flasher with a Cold Steel Dreameaver Cut Bait Rig out 155′. Those were the only 2 bites we had on our divers. Our best action was between the 03’s & 04’s. We didn’t hit any fish in the 05’s so we turned back south. No bites on the south troll until the 02’s when our chute rigger with the White Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly down 75 took another King. We were going to turn back north but hit a fish on the turn and ended up on an out troll. We trolled west to 220 fow and hit 3 more fish on that troll. We didn’t hit any fish on the in troll. We made another out troll and took our biggest fish of the day, an 18.5 lb. King on the chute rigger. Once again the Paddle/Pickled Sunshine combo was our best rig. We had hits on our 3,5, 8,& 12 color cores. No copper bites and only 1 out down bite.
