It has been a few days since we last fished and we had no info about what was happening on the Lake. There is a Ludington saying “When in doubt go straight out” . So we did, setting up in 100 feet of water trolling south. We had the chute rigger and both low wire divers set for Trout with Spin Doctors/WhirlyGigs and a couple Spin-N-Glo’s. The rest of our rods had spoons on them. We had a tug on a high wire out 125 with a mag Fuzzy Bear Frozen Veggie but it didn’t hook up. That was our only spoon bite for the day. Our first fish came on the chute rigger with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Clown Spin-N-Glo. Our low wire ticking bottom with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot WhirlyGig was good. We pulled the spoons off our out downs and high wires and put Trout rigs on them. Our hottest rigger was an out down bouncing bottom with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Chrome Chartreuse WhirlyGig. We turned back north after a few miles and finished on a north troll. We had steady action all morning. When we had our Trout limit and were pulling lines we boated and released 4 more Trout. We pulled our copper & cores last hoping for a King bite. We hit and boated one on a 250 copper with an 8″ Green Bikini Bottom Spin Doctor/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly. It was icing on the cake.
