Tough bite for us today. We went north and set up off the bank. The water was warm, 60 down 70 ft., but we were marking fish and bait. The west-northwest wind made it hard for us get set and get a good speed. It took a while for us to get our first fish.
It came on an out down set at 60 with a pair of SS Sodas. The King took the main bait. Our port out down went twice with an SS Green Hulk and a SS Half Green Hulk stacked above it. We missed them both. We turned out to deeper water and took a King on a 10 color core with a Yeck
Merica spoon. We made it out to 300 ft. The down temp dropped to 54 degrees down 50 feet. No bite out there. We turned it back for an in troll and took a King on a 300 copper with a mag Yeck Bloody Nose. We took a small King on a 7.5 color core with an SS Double Orange Crush. Our crew was ready to go so we cut the trip a little short and headed in.
We use and recommend Nova Tackle Deep Water Series Trolling Rods, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards & Divers, Magnum MetalZ Copper and Downriggers.
