After the big north blow we weren’t really sure where to start this morning. We figured the water had cooled enough for Lake Trout to come back into where we had been fishing for them in May. We set up south of the Project in approximately 50 feet of water . We hit 3 fish pretty quick and lost a couple more. We thought it was going to easy loading up on the Lakers. We thought wrong. After the initial flurry it was slow going. We trolled south to about the Pentwater pierheads and turned back north. We took our biggest Trout late in the trip on a high wire diver on the bottom with an 8″ Chrome Crush UV Spin Doctor with Yellow Dots and a Mountain Dew Yellow Dot Whirly Gig. We took 2 Trout on an out down bouncing bottom with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor Green Glow Whirly Gig. The rest of our fish came on our wire diver fished on or near the bottom with 8″ Chrome Spin Doctors and Whirly Gigs. We had out 3, 5, 7.5 & 10 colors cores hoping for a King or two but we didn’t get any takers.
