The wind was blowing pretty good when we left the dock this morning. We were pleasantly surprised when we broke the pierheads. There was only a little over a foot chop. We ran a little south and set up in 80 feet of water. Our Fish Hawk read 54.5 down 70 feet. That is a little on the warm side for Lake Trout so we moved out deeper to 51 degree water. It didn’t take long for our first bite. We landed a nice Trout and the skunk was out. The action was steady all morning. Our first 4 fish came off our wire divers. Then we started hitting some on our riggers. After we boated our 12th Laker we boated and released 2 more. Our 2 best rigs were 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctors with Chrome Blue Glow Wing and Mountain Dew WhirlyGigs. We ended up with Mountain Dews on both out downs and the Blue Chrome on a low wire diver. We had 2 guests today. They were camera shy and requested we didn’t post their photos.
