They were biting good this morning. Yesterday the water was cold, 44 degrees on the surface, up north where we’ve been fishing. There was a break just south of the Point in 100 FOW and that is where we were hitting fish. By the end of our trip the break had pushed into shallow water. Today the surface temp was 70 degrees and the break was down 55 to 60 feet. We set up in 100 FOW in the high 01’s and trolled north. There was a strong current out of the south. We didn’t have much action until we bumped up our speed. Our high wire divers out 145 & 155 were our hot rods early. We’ve been running the same Spin Doctor/Big Water Meat Rigs for several days now, a 10’ White Crush Mountain Dew/Cold Steel and a 10” Glow Blade Blue Bubble/Blue Moo. Our out downs were set at 55 & 45 ft. with glow spoons and we had out a 7, 8 and two 10 color cores. We had plugs on the two high cores and spoons on the 10’s. The 7 color went twice but no bites on the 8. We took it down to the 04’s then looped out to turn back to the south. We took a Laker, a Steelhead & a small King on the turn. We hit fish on the south troll but the north troll was our best.
