We fished north today setting up off the bank. We were fun fishing this morning with my daughter and grandson. Surface temp was 63. It was 42 down 60 feet on our Fish Hawk. First bite came early. It was on the starboard out down set at 55 ft. with a pair of standard size glow spoons. It put up one heck of a fight. We couldn’t set any of our board rods until we boated the fish. It turned out to be a 27.06 lb. King, our biggest so far this season. We took another mature King on a 225 copper with a mag Half Shelly Snack. We missed a fish on the port out down set at 70 with a RV SS Green Skinny Jeans stacked with a SS Half Green Jeans. Our chute rigger was down 85 with an 11″ Green Double White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. It has been producing at least one bite the last few trips. We pulled it to swap it out for another big Paddle and found a 14″ throwback Laker riding on it. We turned it out on a west-northwest heading for deeper water. We took our second biggest King of the trip on a 5 color core with a SS Rasta Goose. A 275 copper with a custom chrome Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly fired with a big King. When we were pulling lines, we found a small King on a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Doble Orange Crush and took a nice King on an 8″ Black Green Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We didn’t have a lot of bites, but our crew boated some nice big fish. We use Morgan’s copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
