We fished north of Ludington this morning on a 5 hour trip. We set up off the bank. Surface temp was 66 and it was 54 down 80 ft. on our Fish Hawk. First bite was on the chute rigger down 110 ft. with an 11″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with an SS Soda spoon. The fish took the stack. Port out down with a pair of SS Half Green Jeans went once at 80 and once at 90. Starboard out down set at 85 took 2 of Kings on the same rod with a pair of Green Glow spoons. Starboard high wire diver out 180 with a Green Glow spoon took a small King. Port high wire diver out 200 with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a King, fin was deployed. Port low wire out 170 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a King too. Took a King on a 225 copper with a DW UV Green Jeans and a small King on a 250 copper with a Yeck Fireball. We took a bigger King on a 275 copper with an 8″ Black Green Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We lost a Laker behind the boat on an 8″ UV Blade Spin Doctor/Chrome Blue Spin-N-Glo fished just off the bottom. When we were pulling lines our port out down with a Trout rig popped. It felt like we had a log on it. Pretty soon the rod started bouncing and we knew there was a big fish on it. Turned out there were 2 big fish on it. One was on the 8″ Spin Doctor and the other on a Yeck Fireball stacked 20 feet above the main bait. The biggest was 17.10 lbs. and the other weighed 16.10 lbs., 33 lbs. of Lake Trout on the same rod. That capped off a fun morning of fishing. We use Morgan’s copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
