Fished south again today setting up in 100 feet of water. All rods were set and we waited for the first bite. It finally came on an out down set at 55 ft. with a Super Slim Green Skinny Jeans free sliding above a DW Green Skinny Jeans. That rod has been going first or second for several mornings now. The fish got off. We took a King on a 175 copper with a #3 Silver Horde Pinkie Plug. We took a couple smaller Trout on the chute rigger bouncing bottom with a 10″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Spin -N-Glow. We moved out a little deeper looking for bigger Trout and put Trout rigs on our low wire divers. We took 3 on a 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Prototype WhirlyGig before it got hung on bottom and broke off. That has been a hot rig for us. We have a similar one we put out and took a big Trout on it. We picked away at the Trout but still had hopes for a couple more Kings. We ended up taking 3 more of them. We took a 3 year old on 200 copper with a blue glow spoon. We got hooked up on bottom several times with our Trout rigs and lost 3 divers and 4 rigs. The chute rigger took a hit bouncing bottom with a 10″ Chrome Spin Doctor and a Spin -N-Glo. and started ripping out line. We thought for sure we were hung on bottom. It ended up being a 29 pound King. We took our last King on a 300 copper with a 10″ Lemon ice Spin Doctor/Yellow Gasoline DW Meat Rig. It weighed a little over 26 pounds. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and pull our Morgan’s Tackle copper with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
