We wanted to go back out where we had great action yesterday, but we were afraid it would be too rough offshore. So, we headed north to fish the bank. We set up in 130 feet of water off the bath house. We hit our first fish in the dark. It came on a high wire #4 Deeper Diver out 170 with an 8″ DW Blue Bubble Flip Fin Paddle/Glow Blue Bubble Action Fly. The young man on the rod did a great job and landed the biggest of his life so far. Our 175 copper with an Orange Slice took our second fish and went two more times. Our port out down set at 70 with a pair of glow spoons took a nice King. It came on the stack. We lost a fish and took one on our port high wire #4 Deeper Diver out 190 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We took 2 fish and missed one on our starboard low wire #5 Deeper Diver out 125 with an 8″ DW White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We are running our Flip Fin Paddles with the Fin deployed. We had a mag Dreamweaver Spotted Blue Dolphin stacked with a standard DW Spotted Blue Dolphin set at 60 on our starboard out down A big Steelhead took the stack. It made several jumps and ran under both divers. We got the divers out of the way, and it made two more jumps and was gone. Our chute rigger with the big 11″ White Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly goes at least once every trip. It hadn’t gone, so we tripped it to make a change and found a 5 lb. King riding on the Paddle. Our 225 copper with a Broken Nose went twice. No bites on our port low wire with a meat rig. We had it out 85, but I think it would have gone if we dropped it back a little deeper. Our father and son crew did a great job on the rods and were back to the dock with their limit in time for breakfast. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
