We fished south again today setting up in the low 50’s in 130 fow. The graph looked good when we started, but we didn’t get an early bite. By the time the fish started hitting we were out in 170 fow and the graph looked pretty clean. We hit a few fish after the sun came up, but no big morning flurry. We trolled NW out to 190 fow and worked back in to 130 fow. We didn’t find any hot spots, just one here one there. We had 11″ White DW Paddles/Pickled Sunshine Action Flys on our chute rigger & one out down and a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Green UV Big Water Meat Rig on the other out down. We fished the Paddles between 115 & 160 feet down and the Spin Doctor/Big Water Rig 100 down. They all took fish. Our high wire divers were a 10″ Show Time Spin Doctor/Blue Moo Big Water Rig out 425 and a 10″ Black White Crush Spin Doctor/Moo Moo Big Water Rig out 400 on the other. Our low wires with 10″ White Crush Spin Doctors/Froggie Big Water Rigs were quiet most of the morning. At 1st mate Kevin’s suggestion I changed my low wire to a 10″ Black Slick Green Dot Spin Doctor/Mad Moo Big Water Meat Rig (pictured right) and dropped it back to 300 feet. It took 2 nice Kings later in the morning. Our best copper was a 450 with a 10″ Show Time Spin Doctor/Blue Moo Big Water Meat Rig. All our meat rigs are baited with Erie Dearie Premium Strips.
