We had a good early bite. Port 5 color core went once with a Mini Pink Dot DW Plug. Starboard 5 color went once with a Mini Glow Black Ladderback DW Plug. Port 7.5 core went twice with a Mini Pearl Zebra DW Plug and once later with a Gold Fireball. Starboard 7.5 went once with a Mini Lucky Charms DW Plug and once later with a Gold Orange Spoon. Starboard 10 color went once with the same plug. Port 10 color went once with a DW Hot Tamale Spoon. Port 200 copper went once with a regular Warrior Hot Blueberry Muffin Spoon. Starboard 225 copper went once with a mag Warrior Hot Blueberry Muffin Spoon. Port high Ninja Diver out 150 went twice with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and once later out 200 with an 8″ Closer Spin Doctor/Red Pepper Meat Rig. Starboard high Ninja Diver out 135 went 3 times with an 8″ White Rabbit Paddle/Glow Mirage Fly and one later out 210 with an 8″ Dragon Slayer Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline DW Meat Rig. Port low wire out 100 went 5 or 6 times with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire went twice out 85 with an 8″White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. It went 3 times later out 110 with a 10″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. Port out down set at 50 went twice with a Mini Salmon Slayer DW Plug. Our chute rigger down 80 went twice with an 11″ White Crush DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Later we put a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig on the chute down 85 and it took one of our bigger Kings. It felt like an uphill battle later in the trip. A boat took out our 5, 7.5, & 10 color cores. We had a big King on our port low wire make a big run and get tangled with 3 coopers. First Mate/Co-Captain Abe did a great job untangling that mess and we got the fish. Our charter crew from Ohio had an action-packed trip and are taking home some prime Ludington Salmon filets.
