The wind was blowing hard out of the northwest this morning. Anglers that braved the big waves were rewarded with outstanding fishing. We ran north of the point and set up in 140 FOW in the 05’s to make a long down wind troll. The temp had warmed from yesterday- 47 at 60 feet. Our riggers were set at 60, 75 & 65. Our out down at 60 ft. with a pair of regular Dreamweaver Beefeater’s was our hot rigger rod. We made a down wind troll to the 00’s hitting fish all the way. We hit a few fish on the up wind but it was hard to land them because of the waves. We turned back north in the 03’s and finished up in 120 FOW in the 02’s. There were some boats fishing on top of the bank and they were doing well too. Three of our Kings were over 20 lbs., one 23.14 , & two 22 pounders. Our wire divers were on fire. They all had 10″ Spin Doctors / Big Water Tackle Meat Rigs baited with Erie Dearie Herring Strips on them. We were using our old faithfulls our high wires, White Crush Mountain Dew/Cold Steel Big Water Rig on the port side and a Glow Blade Blue Bubble/Blue Moo on the starboard side. They were out 160 & 170 feet. On the low wires we had a White Crush Dark Green Blade/Moo Moo Big Water Rig on the port side, and a new one in our line up, a Show Time Spin Doctor/Moo Moo Meat Rig on the starboard side. They were out 130 & 135 feet. We only ran one core and one copper rod. We had a Green Glow Black Ladderback Captains Choice Cut Plug on a 10 color core that took two big Kings and a Dreamwaver Beefeater on a 200 copper that went three times. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, just hoping the good fishing continues for a while.
