8-5-12 Fishing Report

Had to cancel our trip this morning due to high winds & big waves. We fished north yesterday off the bank between 120 and 180 fow. The morning bite was pretty good. We had a lot of bites, but not a lot of good hook-ups. We had a Green Ladder Back Captains Choice Cut Plug 55 down on one out down and a Green Splatter Back Captains Choice Plug 65 down on the other. A 10″ Glow Blade White Crush Spin Doctor/Green Mirage Strong Fly was down 75 on the chute rigger. All 4 wire divers had 10″ Spin Doctors trailed by Big Water Meat Rigs. We had a Natural Glow & a Yellow Splatter Back Captains Choice Cut Plug on 200 & 250 Coppers. The action really slowed for us after the first couple of hours.  On our afternoon trip we went north and worked the same water. Our best rigs on the p.m. trip were our wire divers. We were running a 10″ Show Time Spin Doctor/Blue Moo Big Water Rig out 250 on one high and a 10″ Dark Green Blue Buble Slick Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Rig out 230 on the other. We had that same Show Time/Blue Moo combo out 150 on one low and a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Froggie Big Water Rig out 130 on the other low wire. The 10″ White Crush/Froggie Rig was our best rod on both trips. We use Erie Dearie Premium Strips on all our meat rigs.
