We fished north of Ludington today setting up in 100 feet of water (fow) on the bank. Some boats hit fish early, but we did not have an early bite. After we passed the Point we turned out to try our luck in deeper water. We started marking schools of bait in 140 fow and we hit our first fish, a big King, on a 10″ Purple Sparkle Spin Doctor/Purple UV Big Water Meat Rig out 110 on a high wire diver. While we were fighting that fish our out down set at 40 ft. fired with a pair of glow spoons. That fish turned out to be a nice Brown. We worked between the bath house and just north of the Point most of the morning between 120 & 150 fow. Most of our fish came on 10″ Spin Doctors and Big Water Meat Rigs on our wire divers. We took 1 more on the Purple Sparkle/Purple UV rig and our best set up was a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig 120 out on a high wire. Only 1 plug bite. It came on a Natural Glow Captains Choice Cut Plug on a 10 color core. We headed back up there for our afternoon trip setting up in 130 fow by the bath house. We hit our first fish just north of the Point on the Purple Sparkle rig out 130 on a high wire diver. Almost all our action came on our wire divers. We had 10 bites and landed 4 big Kings. They would hit our divers, make a big run and be gone. Again, our best rig was the 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Meat Rig on a high wire. A 10″ Show Time Spine Doctor/Blue Moo Rig on a low wire went twice. We bait our all meat rigs with Erie Dearie Meat.
