8-7-26 Fishing Report

Tough day to be fishing on Free Style. The bite was a lot slower than yesterday, but we did get bites. Starboard 5 color went once with a Mini Natural Glow DW Plug. Starboard 7.5 went twice with a Mini Pink Dot DW Plug. Starboard 10 color 1 time with a Mini Soda DW Plug. Port 10 color went once with a Mini DW Wonder Bread Plug. Port out down went twice set at 55 with an SS Super Glow Wonder Bread and a SS Half Wonder Bread free sliding above it. Broke off a fish on the starboard out down set at 45 with a Mini Lucky Charms DW Plug. Our chute rigger down 40 with a full size DW Cut Plug went twice on a 2 color core. We didn’t get either one. For the last several trips our board rods have gone first, but today our first bites were on our riggers. Port high Ninja Diver out 140 went one with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high Ninja Diver out 110 went twice with the same set up. Starboard low wire out 85 went 3 times, 2 of them were drive byes, with the same set up that was on the port low wire. Those were our early bites. We landed 7 of those. We moved out to deeper water. Our port 10 color went once with a mag Raspberry Carbon. Our starboard high Ninja Diver out 170 went once with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. We didn’t get either one. We covered a lot of water out deep with nothing to show for it. Our crew did a good enough job on the rods to have boated more fish. Just a lot of short hits and not good hook ups. Pictured below is the pile of baits we ran today. We are going back to get our revenge on those fish tomorrow morning.
