The water flipped last night at the point. We ran north and were going to set up in the 02’s, but the surface temp was 55 degrees. We kept running and set up in the high 03’s. The surface temp came up to 67 so we thought we would try it there. It didn’t take long to get our first bite. It hit a glow spoon on an out down set at 40 feet. We had 3, 5, 7, 8, & 10 color cores out. We were running plugs on most of them. The 3’s, 5’s & a 7 color core took some hits, but the 8 & 10 color rode. Our best action was between 70 and 100 FOW through the 04’s & 05’s. The action slowed way down around 8:30 a.m. for us so we decided to find a new spot . We heard of boats getting good size & numbers south and out form the 37’s to the 43’s. It was too far for us to run south that late in the morning so we ran straight off the point out to 37:50 and trolled west. We hit 6 fish out there and boated three of them. Two of our fish today were over 23 lbs. One of the 23 pounders came on a 10″ Show Time Spin Doctor/Moo Moo Big Water Meat Rig. The other one took a Hot Veggie Super Slim on a 7 color core.
