We fished our last three trips offshore due to all the cold water on the inside. We’ve been running out to the 54’s south and setting up in 44 degree water around the 36’s west and trolling southwest. We’ve got out as far as the 42’s but most of our fish have come in the colder water between the 36’s & 38’s. Our out downs have been set between 35 & 60 ft. and the chute between 55 & 75 feet depending on the down temp. A pair of regular size Dreamweaver Beefeaters and a pair of regular DW Green-Yellow Tip with Green Glow tape spoons were our best rigger baits. We were free sliding the top bait. We mixed it up with our chute rigger alternating between a White Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly, a 10′ Glow Blade Spin Doctor/Green Mirage Strong Fly, various Kingfisher flashers/Big Water Meat Rigs and today we had a pair of DW Super Breads that took two fish. Our 10″ Spin Doctor/Big Water Meat Rigs didn’t do much on our low wires, but a 10″ White Crush Mountain Dew/Cold Steel Big Water Meat Rig & a 10″ White Crush Glow Blade Spin Doctor/Froggie Big Water Rig were both good on 200 coppers. A SS Green Jeans and a SS Double Orange Crush were our best 3 color baits. An SS Beafeater on a 5 color was good today. Not much action on our 10 color cores. A Yeck Wart Frog out 88 and a SS Chiznit out 70 on our slide divers were good too. There are some nice brakes out there but none of them seemed to hold a lot of fish.
