No early bite this morning. We were ready for cold water and it was warm. 68 degrees down 60 feet on our Fish Hawk. We rode over 2 miles after we set up without a bite. It was hard to head for deep water because the area we set up in has been so good. We finally hit a fish on our starboard 225 copper with a Mag Warrior Hot Blueberry Muffin Spoon. It got away. We took our first King on our starboard out down set at 70 with a pair of SS Sodas.
Our port out down went twice, once down 70 and once down 80 with an 8″ White Crush Foil Back Paddle/Easy Custom Killer Mirage Fly. Starboard 250 copper went once with an 8″ Custom Flip Fin Paddle/Green Crinkle Fly. Port 300 went once with an 8″ White Charlie Special Flip Fin Paddle/Purple Mirage Action Fly.
Our chute rigger went once down 100 with an 11″ White Fish Scale DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our last fish came on the chute rigger down 110 with an 11″ Black Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port high wire Ninja Diver out 200 went once with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high Ninja Diver went once out 300 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire out 120 went once with a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig.
It went again when it was going out. Starboard low wire out 135 went twice with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. We covered a lot of water and never did find an area that held a concenation of fish.
We had a crew of Veterans today that enjoyed their morning on the Lake.
We use and recommend Nova Tackle Deep Water Series Trolling Rods, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, Divers, & Premium Meat Strips, and Magnum MetalZ Downriggers & Copper.
