Slow fishing this morning. Our plan was to try for Kings early then go for Lake Trout. We set up in 110 feet of water. It was 55 degrees on the surface and 52 down 40 feet on our Fish Hawk. We got all lines set and no bites. We weren’t marking much on our graph so we turned east and started to work in. We finally had a bite on a high wire diver out 145 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly, but it didn’t stick. We took a small King on a 5 color core with a SS Super Bread. After that we switched to a Trout Program. We fished the same water we have been fishing for the last few days with good results. We had a hard time getting them to bite today. Our first Trout came on a SS Soda stacked 10 feet above a Trout rig on bottom.
We missed one on a high wire diver ticking bottom with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Chrome Blue Spin-N-Glo. We took one on it later in the morning.
We missed a fish on a 7.5 color core with an SS Steelie Stomper. An 8″ Gold Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot Spin-N-Glo went twice on a low wire diver.
We took a King on a 10 color core with an 8″ UV Blade Spin Doctor/Blue Chrome WhirlyGig. We are hoping for more cooperative fish tomorrow. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, and Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
