Finally got some fish to bite this morning. We called our charter last night and told them fishing was slow and recommended they reschedule. They wanted to try it, and we are very glad they did. We had 3 riggers set and were letting out some of our board rods when an out down set at 50 with a pair of Yeck Wart Frogs went.
The top bait was rubber band stacked 10 feet above the main bait. The other out down set at 50 with a mag Broken Nose and a SS Bloody Nose with Black Spots free sliding above the main bait went. That fish got away. Then the chute rigger down 90 with an 11″ Black Slick Dreamweaver Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and a mag Fuzzy Bear Diet Soda went.
It ended up having a King on the Paddle, pictured below, and one on the spoon. We took 2 more fish on the Paddle/Fly. The out down with the Wart Frogs went 1 more time and the other out went 2 more times. Starboard low wire diver out 140 went twice. Once with an 8″ White Crush UV/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and again with a Chrome Black Green Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port high wire diver out 200 took a nice King on an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our only board to go went 3 times on a mag Orange Glow Spoon on a 7.5 color core. The Lake was calm. We had a little rain, but our charter didn’t seem to mind. We use morgans Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, and Dreamweaver Ninja
Boards.
