Got off to a slow start this morning. The surface temp was 66.6 and it was 56.8 down 85 feet on our Fish Hawk. Only a few fish showing on our graph. All lines were set when hit a fish on a high wire diver out 180 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. It made a couple big runs and escaped.
First fish in the boat came on a 400 copper with a Gold Yeck Fireball. We took two Kings on the high wire out 180 and one on the other high wire out 290 with the White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/ Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. That rig, pictured below, accounted for almost half our bites today. We tried three different flashers on the chute rigger with no bites, so we put down the 11″ Black Slick Dreamweaver Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We had it 100 ft. down and it took two Kings.
We took a nice King on a low wire diver out 220 with a 10″ Chrome Green Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. Our crew did a good job on the rods and made the most out of our bites today. We use Morgan’s tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
