The surface temp was 64.8 and it was 48.5 down 40 feet on our Fish Hawk. It was still dark when a fish hit an out down set at 50 feet with a pair of SS Soda spoons. It didn’t hook up. Our chute rigger set at 60 with an 8″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with an SS Half Wonder Bread took a hit. No hook up. The out down set at 50 with the Sodas went again. Same result, no hook up. A fish rattled our port out down set at 40 with an SS Green Jeans and an SS Half Green Jeans free slider. We finally boated our first fish on a 5 color core with one of Dreamweaver’s new small Captain’s Choice Cut Plugs.
It was a Natural Glow.
We put out a Lucky Charms Captain’s Choice Mini Plug out on a 5 color core. A big fish hit it. It took out a lot of line before it escaped. We lost a fish on the starboard high wire diver on an 8″ White Crush Green Dot Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and took a nice King on the starboard low wire diver on an 8″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly.
We put an 11″ Black Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly on the chute rigger. It took a King set at 80 and went 3 times down 120 We only got one of the fish down 120.We missed a fish on our port high wire diver out 210 with a Kevin’s Girlfriend 8″ Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We hit a fish on our port low wire diver out 200 with an 8″ Chrome Green Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. We missed a fish and lost a fish on our starboard high wire diver out 225 with an 8″ Chrome Two Face Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We took a Lake Trout on a 225 copper with a Diet Soda DW Spoon. Our crew did a good job on the rods. We just didn’t get very good hook ups. We use Morgan’s tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
