Finally got a good early bite! Our first rod in was our starboard out down set at 55 ft. with a pair of Super Slim Soda’s.
Went to set the second rod when the first one went. It was real steady after that. Those SS Soda’s set at 55 on that out down went several times. Chute rigger down 70 with an 11″ Black Paddle/Pickled Sunshine stacked with a SS Soda went. The fish took the stack.
We swapped out the Black Paddle for an 11″ White Flasher/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly, set it at 80 and caught a Laker. The only board we could get out early was a 5 color core with a Natural Glow Mini Captain’s Choice Cut Plug.
It took a nice King. Port out down went once with a pair of DW Sodas set at 50. Port high wire diver out 210 with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took a big King. Starboard High wire diver out 165 with an 8″ White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went twice. Starboard low wire diver out 95 went twice with an 8″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Later in the morning
we pulled the 11″ White Flasher on the chute rigger and put the 11″ Black Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly back on. Set at 120 ft. it took a good size king. We took another Laker on a 7.5 color core with a Fireball.
Our 250 copper went twice with a regular size white back glow spoon. It was a fun trip, and our charter clients are going back to Ohio with a cooler full of fillets.
