Wind Finder was predicting 3.6 ft. waves this morning, but they were under 3 feet. The Lake was very fishable. The bite was on when we set up. Our 7.5 color cores were hit while they were going out. One had a Mini Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug and the other had a Mini Pink Dot Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. We didn’t have time to take many pictures; it was constant action after that. Starboard out down was set at 50 with a Mini Natural Glow Cut Plug and a SS Soda free sliding above it. It went as fast as we could get it down. We quit putting on the slider because all the bites were on the plug. Port out down was set at 55 with a standard Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug and a SS Soda free sliding above it. All the bites were on the plug, and it went every time we set it. The chute rigger set at 65 with a mag Fuzzy Bear Yellow Tail and a standard Fuzzy Bear Yellow Tail stacked 10 feet above it went several times. All the bites were on the mag spoon.
The port 7.5 went 1 more time with the small Natural Glow Plug. Starboard 175 copper went once with a Bloody Mai spoon. Port 10 color core went a couple times with a big Natural Glow Cut Plug. Port high wire diver went once out 180 and once out 230 with an 8″ Paddle/Glow Fly. Port low wire diver out 135 went once with an 8″ Paddle/Glow Fly. The starboard out down went so many times we couldn’t get the starboard divers in.
The Mini Captain’s Choice Cut Plugs were hot. They had all been leak tested and had new Dreamweaver hooks on them. The new hooks held up well, no bends or breaks. Our crew must have had an idea how the morning was going to go. They showed up with just a bottle of water each and no food. They didn’t have time to drink the water until we were headed in. It was awesome fishing. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
