Tough bite today. The break came up since Wednesday. Surface temp was 66 and it was 46 down 60 feet on our Fish Hawk. Our riggers and divers were set and we were letting out our board rods when the starboard high wire diver out 170 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig took off. It wasn’t on long and was gone. When we brought the line in the whole rig was gone, swivel failure. All rods were set when the starboard low wire diver out 110 went with a 10″ White Crush Green Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig.
We boated a nice King and got the skunk out. The action slowed so we turned out to deeper water. We hit a fish on a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Sunshine. That one got away, but we did take a Steelhead on it and lost another fish later in the trip on the same spoon.
We took a King and lost a fish on the chute rigger down 210 with an 11″ White Slick Paddle/Little Boy Blue Fly.
Our last fish came on the port out down set at 70 with a pair of SS Chilly Willie’s. The King took the main bait. Our crew knew how to have fun, and we all had a good time. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
