Fished north this morning. There were so many boats it looked like a weekend morning. The fish didn’t fire right away. First rods to go were our lead cores and coppers. A 5 color core with an SS Rasta Goose was first. It took a nice King. It went again a little later in the trip. A 3 color core with a Double Orange Crush went 3 times and a 5 color with the same bait went once. One 7.5 color core went twice with a mag Fuzzy Bear UV Green Jeans. The other 7.5 went once with a small Pink plug and once and again with a Double Orange Crush. A 10 color with a small Pink plug went twice and our other 10 color with an SS Metallic Glow Frog went 3 times. A 200 copper with a small Balck Lightning plug went once and 2 more times with a DW UV Beefeater spoon. A 225 copper went once with a SS Metallic Glow Frog and once with an 8″ Senica Special Flip Fin Paddle/Green Crinkle Action Fly. Our 300 copper took a big Coho with an 8″ Charlie’s Special Flip Fin Paddle/Green Fly. A pair of SS Chilly Willies set at 55 on our starboard out down went 5 times, twice on the main bait and 3 times on the free slider. Port out down with a pair of Green Glow spoons went once at 45 and 2 more times down 65 with an 8″ White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. The chute rigger down 65 with a DW Green Hulk and a SS Half Green Hulk free sliding went twice. Later we dropped it down to 85 ft. and put an 8″White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action with a SS Metallic Glow Frog free slider on it. It went 3 times, once on the paddle and twice on the free slider. Most of our diver action was on our port side. The high wire out 130 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went at least 6 times. The low wire diver out 100 went 3 times with an 8″ Chrome White Crush Green Dot Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and 1 more time out 150. Starboard high wire out 150 took a hit with an 8″ Chrome Two Face Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire with a custom 8″ Flip Fin Paddle went once. We had an experienced crew and that helped out a lot. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
