It was rough out there this morning. The fish started biting in the dark and it was chaos. We had some big-time tangles, but First Mate Capt. Abe did his best to untangle them. Our board rods were first to go. A 7.5 color core with a UV Shelly Snack went twice. Port 10 color core with a Mini Pink Dot Captain’s Choice Plug went once and so did the Starboard 175 copper with the same plug. Starboard 225 copper took a King on a Mini Lucky Charms Cut Plug. Port and Starboard 250 cooper both took Kings on Mini Natural Glow Cut Plugs. Port 300 went once with a regular size Hulk spoon. Port high wire diver out 150 went three or four times with an 8″ White Paddle/Glow Fly. Starboard high wire out 150 went 5 times with an 8″ White Dagger Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly. The first time it went with a Glow Blue Bubble Action Fly. That fish broke off; we were in a hurry and put a non-glow Blue Bubble on it and it kept going. Port low wire out 120 went 4 times with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly.
Chute rigger went twice down 85 with an 11″ White Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port out down set at 55 went for times with a full-size Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Plug and a SS Soda free sliding above it. The free slider took one fish. Starboard out down set at 50 went twice with a full-size Pink Dot Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. Later in the morning it went three times down 50 with a pair of Super Slim Chilly Willies. Our last fish came on a 350 copper on the port side with a Gold Fireball. Our crew endured some rough conditions. They hung in there and caught some nice fish. We use Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs, and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
