Fishing Report

Not as much boat traffic this morning. We had all our rods set when the port out down with a Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug with a SS Soda set at 60 fired. The King took the plug. Starboard out down set at 70 went next with a Mini Natural Glow Cut Plug and a SS Soda free sliding above it. The fish hit the free slider, got into our low diver and escaped. We took a King on the port low diver out 140 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We quit marking fish, so we turned west for deeper water. We lost a big fish and took a Lake Trout on an 11″ Custom White Crush DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly down 200 + feet. We lost a fish on a 375 copper with a 10″ Green Stud Spin Doctor/Blue Stud Atomic Meat Rig. We took a King on a 350 copper with an 8″ Chrome Two Face Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig. Took a Coho on a 275 copper with an 8″ Yellow Closer Spin Doctor/Custom Meat Rig. Took a King on an 8″ Paddle/Glow Fly out 150 on our port high wire diver. Took 2 Steelhead on a 175 copper with a Sunshine spoon. Our crew today has fished with us many years and booked the same for date next year. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

Lots of boat traffic fishing out of Ludington this morning. We had 2 clients, so we had a 12 rod spread. Turns out we didn’t need our board rods. Had a tug on a 225 copper with a Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug, but no hookup. That was all the action we had on our board rods. First rod to go was our port out down set at 65 with a Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug and a SS Soda free sliding above it. Next was the starboard out down set at 55 with a Mini Natural Glow Captain’s Choice plug and a SS Soda free sliding above it. Our out downs were our best rods. They each went multiple times. Our starboard high wire diver with an 8″ White Crush Two Face Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went while we were letting it out. Starboard low wire diver out 135 went once with an 8″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire diver went once out 130 and once out 140 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our chute rigger took a King down 80 and another one down 100 with a Custom 11″ White Crush DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our couple from West Virginia got to enjoy a beautiful morning fishing out of Ludington.
