We hit 2 fish in the dark this morning up north and landed them both. One on a 7.5 color core with a Mag Fuzzy Bear Green Hulk spoon and the other on a low wire diver out 50 with a 10″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly. We hit another fish on the 7.5 color core then that was it until we were pulling lines. We took a Laker down 160 on the chute rigger with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Blue Chrome Spin-N-Glo. It was tough fishing to say the least. Hopeing for better action tomorrow.
Fishing Report
9-2-16
The surface temp cooled considerably after 2 days of north winds. We left the Ludington peirheads with the intention of fishing up north but turned back around when the surface temp dropped to 42 degrees. We set up in the high 58’s in 40 feet of water and trolled south. We didn’t hit a fish until we were just south of the piers. We took a nice King on a 5 color core with an Ace Hi Gray Ghost Plug. That same rod took all 3 of our fish. We had 2 other bites in there both of them on divers. The action died so we pulled lines and headed north to a temp break in the 00’s. We took a Coho there on the 5 color with the Ace-Hi Plug and missed a fish on a 2 color core with a Super Slim Mixed Veggie.
