We fished north of Ludington today just off the Bank. It was 49 degrees 75 feet down. We were setting our third rod when our chute rigger down 80 with a 11″ White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly started screaming out drag. First Mate Austin lowered his out down with a Green Black Ladder Back Captains Choice Cut Plug down to 80 ft. and it took off. Great way to start out the morning. We landed the King on the out down and then a low wire diver out 140 with a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat got bit by another big King. We landed it. Then a high wire diver out 185 with a 10″ White Crush/Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig took another King. All this time we were still fighting the first fish we had on. Carl finality landed it. It was pushing 25 lbs. and took 55 minutes to land. We kept trolling north for a while then took another King on a 250 copper with a Dreamweaver Natural Glow Cut Plug. Our high wire took another King and so did a 300 copper with the same rig as the high wire. We missed a couple other hits and caught a small Laker that we threw back. It was a fun morning with good King action. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
