We fished southwest again this afternoon between 150 and 210 feet of water. We marked a lot of bait and some fish, but trolled for quite a while before we had a bite. We took a Steelhead on a pair of Yeck Jared’s 55 down on an out down. It took the slider. We hit four more fish on them and every one took the slider. We took another Steelie on a 3 color core with a Super Slim Magic Man. Our chute rigger down 75 had a pair of magnum Fuzzy Bear spoons on it. We hit a big fish on the stack, a Blue Educator, and it got off. A 10 color with a Lighting spoon went twice and a 3 color with a Yeck Fireball took a fish. We worked with our divers all afternoon and never had a bite on them. We are going back out there Wednesday morning and will have another report then.

9-20-15 Fishing Report

After the strong winds Saturday we weren’t sure what to expect when we left for our afternoon trip today. We talked to two captains who had fished in the morning and they had success fishing southwest of Ludington so we headed out that way setting up in 130 feet of water. We saw a nice looking current line and started fishing on it. The water looked good but we didn’t hit any fish on it so we put it on a 240 troll and went deeper. We hit our first fish on a mag size prototype Fuzzy Bear spoon 80 down on an out down. It was only on for a few seconds and then it was gone. Not too long after that we took a Steelhead on our chute rigger down 75 ft. on a mag Fuzzy Bear Modified Blue Dolphin. We hit a Steelhead on a 3 color core with a Super Slim Magic Man and lost it. That Magic Man went two more times and we landed both of those. We took another Steelhead on a 10 color core with a regular size Fuzzy Bear Hot Rod spoon. We took the King pictured left on that same rod. We only had one diver bite. A fish hit our Slide Diver out 150 with a Yeck Red Laser spoon and got off. We took a Laker on the prototype Fuzzy Bear on the out down at 80 feet. We took a Coho on a mag Fuzzy Bear Carmel Dolphin on a 200 copper. The weather forecast looks good for the rest of the week and we think the fishing is going to be good. We currently have no charters scheduled so if you would like to give it a try call us at 231 425-8723.
