We fished north today along with more boats than I’ve seen all season. Boat traffic was heavy. We hit five fish early on a north troll and boated four of them. We took five more after we turned back south. It went dead after that on the inside so we turned out to deeper water and hit a few more out there. A Blue Splatter Back Captain’s Choice Cut Plug took fish on a 250 copper, a 350 copper and 70 down on an out down. A 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly went three times 270 out on a high wire diver and so did a 11″ Black Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 150 on a low wire diver. We only had a couple meat bites. We took a King on a 350 copper with a 10″ Chrome Kevorkian Crush UV/UV On Ice Big Water Meat Rig and missed a fish on a low wire diver out 170 with a 10″ Black Slick Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Rig. We broke off a big fish on a 10″ Black Crush Light Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly down 70 on an out down when it came up into our low wire. Our biggest King today, pictured above left, came on a Blue Dolphin Captain’s Choice Cut Plug on a 300 copper. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
Fishing Report
8-28-15 Fishing Report
We fished south today setting up in 110 feet of water (fow). The temp break was 50 feet down. Our first fish came on a high wire diver out 100 with a mag glow spoon. We took 3 more quick ones. First one on an out down set at 45 ft. with a Pearl Zebra Captain’s Choice Cut Plug . Second one on a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly out 200 on a high wire diver and the third on a Wonder Bread Captain’s Choice Cut Plug on a 10 color core. We trolled south about 4 miles working between 100 and 150 fow without another bite. The further south we went the colder the down temp, so we turned back north. The current was coming from the south and we really had to bump up our speed to get a decent speed at the ball on our Fish Hawk unit. We took two fish on our north troll. One on a 7.5 color core with a Fireball spoon and the other 70 down on a out down with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Ocean Mist Action Fly. We finished the morning off back on a south troll taking 3 more fish before we pulled lines. We took one more on our high wire diver out 200 with the 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly, one on a 225 copper with a 8″ Chrome Mountain Dew NBK Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Meat Rig and our last fish came on a regular size Dreamweaver Green NBK spoon on a 250 copper. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
