Good fishing the last couple days in Ludington. We have been getting a decent early bite in mornings and had a good trip last night boating 4 out of the 6 fish we had on. Dreamweaver Captain’s Choice Cut Plugs were going good for us this morning. A Wonder Bread went twice on a 10 color core, Lucky Charms once on a 175 copper and a Mother of Pearl Black Dot went twice on an out down set at 50 feet. Our chute rigger with a 11″ White Paddle Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went twice set at 85 feet and we lost a big Lake Trout on another big White Paddle with a Blue Bubble Action Fly on an out down set at 90 feet. Not a lot of wire diver bites today. A 10″ Shocker Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Meat Rig went once on a high wire and a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Action Fly Meat Rig went twice on a low wire out 120. Yesterday our hot wire was a high out 230 with a 10″ Mountain Dew Blade Slick Slick/UV On Ice Big Water Rig. It went twice on both trips. We took 3 Lake Trout today on a Tin Can Dodger/Green Chartreuse Spin-N-Glow on our chute rigger fished near bottom. Yesterdays best rig was a 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Ocean Mist Action Fly. It went twice on an out down set at 65 and twice on a 250 copper. It went once today on a 250 copper. Our biggest King Today came on a 300 copper with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Green UV Big Water Meat Rig. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.

8-14-15 Fishing Report

Good fishing this morning. We didn’t have a big morning flurry, but the action was steady most of the morning. Our first fish came on an out down set at 65 ft. with a 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Ocean Mist Action Fly. It was still dark when the King hit. It got into one of wires and broke off. We lost our best low wire rig, a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Action Fly Meat Rig, when a King came in hot, hit one of our rigger cables and broke off. What a bummer. We lost our 2 best rigs within 15 minutes of each other. We did still manage to land some big ones. It had been a few days since we’ve had any action on our chute rigger with a 11″ White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. It went twice today set at 71. That same combo went two more times on an out down set at 80 feet. Our best coppers were a 250 with an 8″ Chrome Mountain Dew NBK Spin Doctor/Black UV Big Water Meat Rig and a 300 with a 10″ Chrome Kevorkian Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Rig. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
