Fishing Report

Finally got Mother Nature to cooperate with good weather on a day when we have a charter. We headed south today and fished between 80 & 120 feet of water (fow). We hit them on a little bit of everything. 3, 5, 7.5 & 10 color cores with spoons, a few rigger bites, and a few diver bites with Spin Doctors & meat rigs. We didn’t have a hot rod with the exception of a 7.5 color core with a Super Slim Mixed Veggie. It took 3 fish. A 3 color core with a SS Starburst went twice.  A 5 color core with an SS Magic Man went twice too. A regular size Dreamweaver EVM spoon on a 10 color core took one of our biggest fish today. Only 1 bite on the chute rigger. It came on  a 11″ White Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We ran various Spin Doctor meat rig combos on our wire divers. None took more than 1 fish.

After the great day we had Sunday we were looking forward to getting back out there Monday. The water had not changed. The wind was blowing harder and the moon was very bright when we headed out Monday morning. We set up in the same area as Sunday and started fishing. We hit two nice  Kings in the first half hour and that was it for quite a while. Both fish came on riggers. We didn’t have another bite until about 10:00 a.m. We took a Steelhead on a 150 copper with a Super Slim Starburst spoon and King on a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Fireball. Hard to believe – 21 fish on Sunday , 4 bites 4 fish on Monday fishing the same water. We headed back out this morning only we started further south. We trolled about a half hour before we hit our first fish. It hit the chute rigger with a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Today was pretty much a repeat of yesterday. We only had one wire diver bite both days., but it was a good one. We took a 23 lb. Lake Trout on a high wire out 220 with a 10 ” Margarita Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig and a Dreamweaver Premium Meat Strip. The big fish was 36″ long. We were marking a lot of fish and bait. They are out there, but just weren’t biting. We are blaming it on the “Super Moon. It has been real bright all night long. We don’t know what else to blame it on. Going to take a few days off. Be back out fishing next Monday.
