Fishing Report

Fishing has picked up in Ludington. We had a good afternoon trip yesterday and the morning trip today was  good too. Some of our hot set ups are an 8″ Chrome Kevorkian Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water or Dreamweaver Meat Rig on a 10 color core, a 8″ Chrome Mountain Dew NBK Spin Doctor/Black UV Big Water Rig on a 10 color core or 200 copper, a 10″ Green Sparkle Spin Doctor/Green UV Big Water or Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig on a 250 copper and a 10″ Chrome Kevorkian Spin Doctor/Black UV Big Water Rig on a 250 or 300 copper. Our wires have been good with 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctors/Green Mile Big Water Rigs on both high and low wires on one side of the boat and a 10″ Chrome Killer/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Rig on the other high wire. We are still searching for a go to rig for the other low wire.  If I could only have one plug to run it would be a Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. We have been starting out with it every morning on our high cores. Today the Natural Glow got out fished by a Blue Splatter Back Captain’s Choice Plug on a 200 copper. It took 4 fish. We put  an 8″ Red Mamba Spin Doctor/Big Red Big Water Rig down 48 ft. on an out down later in the morning and it went four times.   We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

Ran a double yesterday and have another today. We had a tough time getting them going yesterday morning. The action picked up for our afternoon trip and got really good this morning. Our 5, 7.5 & 10 color cores were good with plugs early. We also had a plug on an out down set at 70 ft. They all took fish. Our best plug continues to be the Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. We had some decent rigger action. Our best was a 10″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Screw Strong Fly down 80. We were taking fish down deeper today than yesterday. Our wire divers have been good. We’ve been running a 10″Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig on both a high & low wire diver. The high out 130 to 150 and the low from 70 to 110. Our other high wire has been a 10″ Chrome  Killer Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig out 150 to 185. Later in the morning a 8″ Chrome Mountain Dew NBK Spin Doctor/Black UV Big Water Rig on a 10 color has been good. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
