Fishing Report

It was a better bite today. A 3 color core with a small Double Glow plug went once. Port 5 color core went 3 times with a Yeck Double Orange Crush. Starboard 5 color went once with a small Pink plug and once with a Yeck Gold Fireball. Port 7.5 core went 3 times with a mag Fuzzy Bear UV Green Jeans. Port and starboard 10 color cores each went twice with DW Captain’s Choice Natural Glow Cut Plugs. Port high wire diver out 150 went 4 times with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high wire out 165 went 4 times with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire out 100 went once with a mag Glow spoon. Starboard low wire out 85 went once with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and 3 more times back 125. Port out down set at 45 went once with a pair of SS Sodas and once at 50 with an 8″ White Crush Paddle/Little Boy Blue Fly. Starboard out down set at 55 went once with a pair of Green Glow spoons. No bites again today on the chute rigger. Our crew had never been fishing on Lake Michigan. It’s safe to say they will be back. Day off tomorrow, back on the water Tuesday. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

Bites came a little tougher for us today. A 3 color core with a small Purple plug went once. One bite on a 5 color core with a small Pink plug. Port 10 color went once with a small Pink plug. Starboard 10 color went once with a mag Fuzzy Bear Orange Slice. A 200 copper went once with a mag Fuzzy Bear Soda. Port and starboard 225 coppers both had a DW Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug and they each went once. We hit a big King on a 300 copper with an 8″ Charlie’s Special Flip Fin Paddle/ Green Mirage Fly. After a long fight it turned the hook and got away. Port high wire diver out 150 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went once. Starboard high wire out 165 went once with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and once with an 8″ Senica Special/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire diver went once at 100 with a mag Green Glow Spoon, once out 120 with the same spoon, and once out 150 with a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. Starboard low wire out 120 went once with an 8″ Black Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port out down went once with a pair of SS Sodas. Starboard out down set at 55 went twice with a pair of Green Glow spoons. No bites on the chute rigger this morning. Our crew has fished with us for many years and knew how to handle the rods.
