Ludington Area Fishing Reports

We got off to a rough start this morning. A King on a 10 color core sawed off 2 of our rigger rod lines, and we broke off a cannonball all in the dark on the set.  Lots of board bites. We were running 3,5,7.5 & 10 color cores on both sides and a 250 copper. All our early bites came on Dreamweaver Mini Captain’s Choice Cut Plugs, pictured below. We had them on every board rod. Later in the morning our port 10 color went with a DW UV Green Jeans and port 250 copper went twice with a Prototype 8″ White Charlie Special Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard high wire diver out 145 took a Coho on an 8″ Yellow Closer Spin Doctor/Red Pepper Meat Rig. Port high wire out 150 went twice with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard out down went once down 75 with a DW Sportsman Special with a SS Sportsman Special stacked 10 feet above it. The fish took the stack. Port out down set at 45 took a King on a full-size Pink Dot Captain’s Choice Plug. The chute rigger went 3 times down 65 then 85 with an 8″ White Crush Silver Back DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our crew had a fun, action packed morning. We use Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs, and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.

Good early bite again this morning. Port 7.5 color core went twice with a Mini Wonder Bread Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. Port 10 color core went once with a Mini Pink Dot Cut Plug. Starboard 225 copper went one time with a Mini Pink Dot Captain’s Choice Plug. Starboard 275 copper went once with a Mini Lucky Charms Captain’s Choice Plug. Starboard 325 went one time with a Mini Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Plug. Port 300 copper with an 8″ Prototype White Charlie Special Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went twice. Port 350 copper went once with a Gold Fireball. Port out down set at 60 went once with a full-size Captain’s Choice Pink Dot Plug. Starboard out down set at 55 went 4 times with a Mini Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Plug. Chute rigger went once down 80 and once down 150 with a 11″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port high wire diver out 200 went four times with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire out 150 went once with an 8″ White Slick Paddle/Glow Fly. Starboard high wire diver out 185 took a big King on a new Pink Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. It went two more times with an 8″ Yellow Closer Spin Doctor/Red Pepper Meat Rig. That same rig took a Coho later in the trip on a 275 copper. Our crew from Ohio have fished with us for many years and a beautiful day and good action this morning.
