We fished south of Ludington today setting up in 110 feet of water and trolled west. The down temp had cooled, and we were hoping to get some mature Kings early. We didn’t get the early bite. All our rods were set before we took our first fish. It was a nice King that hit our chute rigger down 100 with an 11″ White Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a mag Fuzzy Bear UV Blue Jeans. The fish took the stack.
We had glow spoons on all 6 of our coppers. We had bites on our 325, 350 and 375 but didn’t get any of them. Our 325 with the mag Fuzzy Bear Orange Slice had a fish that made a big run before it escaped. The other copper bites just hit and were gone. Our port out down set at 85 with a pair of Super Slim Green Hulks went 3 times all with Kings. We landed 2 of including our big fish for the trip.
The hooks pulled right behind the boat on the one that got away. Our low wire our 150 with a 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Fly went once and our high wire out 245 with a glow spoon went once too. Neither of them was on long. We took a small King on our port high #5 wire diver with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 260. When we were out in deeper water, we dropped our chute down to 150 feet and stacked it with the mag Fuzzy Bear Blue Jeans. We took a nice King on the stack. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle coper and wire.

We had a mag Fuzzy Bear UV Blue Jeans stacked 10 feet above the Paddle.
They both went once. Our starboard out down had a pair of glow spoons on it down 75. A mag on the bottom and a standard on the stack. They both took fish. A high wire # 4 Deeper Diver out 275 with a 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly was our best diver. It went 4 times with good size fish. Our starboard low wire #5 Deeper Diver out 170 with an 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly took our biggest Lake Trout. We had a 275, 300, 350 copper on our starboard side and a 250, 325, and 375 copper on our port side. They all had mag glow spoons on them, and they all took fish. Our best copper was the 275 with a mag Fuzzy Bear Orange Slice. Our crew had a fun morning and did a great job on the rods. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper and wire.
