It was rough out there this morning. We fished north setting up in 130 feet of water. Not much showing on our graph and with the strong northwest wind the north troll was hard to hold. We opted to head for deeper water heading into the waves. We waited a long time for our first bite. It came on an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 300 on a #4 high wire Deeper Diver.
It was about a 7 lb. King.
Our next bite came on a standard Sodas spoon down 90 stacked above a mag Sodas. It was a smaller King. Then out came the bananas.
Couldn’t believe the trip organizer brought them. He has been fishing with us for several years and should have known better. As soon as they finished the bananas we took 2 more fish,
A big King on a big Chrome Paddle/Blue Fly down 200 on the chute rigger and a Lake Trout on a 300 copper with a mag Smash Mouth Fuzzy Bear. We missed a fish on the chute rigger too. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.

After a long fight the big fish on the diver escaped. We took it north a couple miles past the Point and took a mature King on a low # 5 Deeper Diver out 210 on a DW Two Face Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly before we turned out and started our south troll. We lost a fish on the chute rigger on the turn and that was our only bite until we got past the Point.
We took a small fish on a 350 copper with a SS Green Hulk and another small King on a 375 copper with a mag DW EVM spoon. We swapped out the Super Slim Blue Jeans on our starboard high wire out 310 for a Stud Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. It wasn’t out long before a big King hit it hard. After a long fight it came to the net and into the boat. We reset it back out 310 and went again not 5 minutes later with another mature King. We boated that one too. It got a little bumpy toward the end of the trip. Our crew held up well and did a good job on the rods. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs a Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
