Ludington Area Fishing Reports

All our rods were set when our starboard 175 copper went with a Bloody Mahi spoon. We landed a King and lost a fish on it. Port out down set at 60 went next with a Captains Choice Natural Glow Cut Plug with a SS Soda free sliding above it. It went 3 more times, twice they hit the plug and once on the free slider. We lost a fish on the chute rigger down 80 with a Mag Fuzzy Bear Shelly Snack stacked with a DW Shelly Snack. Starboard out down set at 70 with a Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Cut Plug and a SS Soda free sliding above took a King. Port high wire diver out 210 took a King on a 10″ White Crush Dark Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig. Starboard high wire diver out 225 went twice with an 8″ White Crush Green Dot Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire diver out 140 went twice with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire diver out 155 went twice with an 8″ White Crush Black Doy Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port 7.5 color core took 2 fish with a Mini Captain’s Choice Pink Dot Plug. Port 350 copper took a King on a Gold Fireball. Starboard 325 copper went once with an 8″ Black Slick Spin Doctor/Custom Black & Red Meat Rig. It was a fun morning on the Lake with plenty of action. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.

Better bite today. Had trouble keeping them on the hook early but they started to stick a little later in the morning. Lost a fish on a 175 copper with a Bloody Mahi spoon. Boated our first fish, a King, on a 225 copper with a Captain’s Choice Pink Dot Cut Plug. Our port out down set at 60 went several times with a Natural Glow Captain’s Choice Plug and a SS Soda free sliding above it. They would hit and be gone. I think we only boated one fish off it. Starboard out down set at 65 took a King on a Live Wire Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Chute down 80 took a King on an 11″ Custom DW White Crush Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and down 90 with an 11″ Dreamweaver Kevin’s Girlfriend Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our wire divers were hot. Port high wire diver out 200 went once with an 8″Paddle/Glow Fly and 3 times with a 10″ White Crush Dark Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig. Starboard high wire diver out 165 went twice with a White Crush Green Dot Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and once out 235 with an 8″ Green Stud Flip Fin Paddle/Illusion Fly. Port low wire diver out 140 went 5 times with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire went 3 times out 165 with an 8″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly.  Port 250 copper took a big King on an 8″ Chrome Two Face Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig. It was a fun trip with plenty of action.
