We ran an afternoon trip today fishing south of Ludington. We had good action between 55 and 65 feet of water. It was foggy and a little rough when we set up but as the afternoon turned into evening the fog cleared and the Lake laid down. Our best rigs were 8 inch Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctors trailed by Chrome Chartreuse & Chrome Blue Glow Whirly Gigs. Both are pictured below. We had the Chrome Chartreuse Whirly Gig on a high wire diver and the Blue Chrome Glow Wing Whirly Gig on a low wire diver. The were both fished on or near the bottom. We had a couple spoons out on 5 & 10 color cores but all our fish came on Spin Doctors and Whirly Gigs.

Went for a shakedown trip with friends this morning. We had very good action fishing south of Ludington. We took our fish between 50 and 67 feet of water. All our fish except 2 were caught on 8″ Spin Doctors trailed by Dreamweaver WhirlyGigs. The 2 exceptions were caught on 5 color cores with a SOG Super Slim and a UV Black Dot Starburst Super Slim. Our 2 hottest rigs were 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctors and Mountain Dew Chrome & Blue Chrome Glow WhirlyGigs fished on or near the bottom on our high wire divers. It was a beautiful day and it felt good being back out on the water.
