We fished a little south of Ludington setting up in 200 feet of water. There was a lot of boat traffic today. The temp at 60 ft. on our Fish Hawk was 46 degrees. We had all our rods set when a 3 year old King hit a 200 copper with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly. We just got it in the boat when a Steelhead hit a Dreamweaver Green Skinny Jeans set at 65 on an out down. A low wire out 90 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig went but we missed it. The 200 copper with the 8″White Slick/Liquid Sunshine took another Steelhead. We lost a King on a 225 copper with a blue glow spoon . Then our action slowed. We went a while before we hit a triple. One on a Purple Ham Yeck spoon 65 down on an out down, another on a 200 copper with the 8″ White Slick/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly and the third hit an 8″ Yellow Bikini Bottom Spin Doctor/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly. We got all three. After another lull a high wire diver out 185 took our biggest fish of the day. 25.14 lbs, with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We missed a fish and took a Steelhead on a pair of Super Slim Super Bread spoons 55 down on an out down. We missed another fish on the 250 copper with the 8″ Yellow Bikini Bottom Spin Doctor/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly pictured above. That rig has went at least twice on our last two trips. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.

8-7-18 Fishing Report

After a couple weather days it was good to get back out on the water. We went deep setting up in 200 feet of water a little south of Ludington. Our Fish Hawk probe at 60 ft. showed 46 degrees. We had steady action all morning. First it was our wire diver & riggers then later in the morning it was mostly coppers. A pair of regular Dreamweaver Green Skinny Jeans down 65 on an out down went 4 or 5 times. A regular DW Blue Hulk stacked 10 ft. above a mag Blue Hulk took 3 fish. Our 10″ White Slick and White Crush Spin Doctors with Dreamweaver Pickled Sunshine Meat Rigs on our wire divers took most of our big fish including our biggest Lake Trout and biggest Steelhead. Our highs were out 160 & 185 and lows 90 & 100. We took 2 Steelhead on a Yeck Wart Frog on a 175 copper. A 10″ White Slick Green Hollo Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig on a 300 copper went twice. We worked southwest from our starting point getting as deep as 430 ft. We finished in 350 feet of water. We use Dreamweaver premium strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper on all our copper rods.
