The west wind made for a sloppy troll this morning up north. We took 4 fish on the early bite and hit a few more after the sun came up. We had 10″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctors & Blue Fairways Strong Flys on both divers on the port side of the boat and they both went several times . A big Green Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Actiuon Fly went 4 times on the chute rigger set at 80 ft. We had 2 plug bites. One on a 250 copper with a Natural Glow Dreamweaver Cut Plug and the other on a Blue Splatter Back Captains Choice Cut Plug on a 300 copper. We had 3 meat bites. Quite a few of our bites didn’t hook up, but our crew landed every fish that did hook up. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper on all our copper rods.

Fished north yesterday and today. We didn’t get an early bite either day. It was broad daylight before we got our first bite yesterday and almost the same today. The cloud cover helped us this morning. We had steady action most of the trip. Blue Bubble Spin Doctors and Blue Bubble Action & Blue Fairways Strong Flys accounted for almost every bite we had. We had 5 bites on a high wire diver out 170 with a 10″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly and 4 bites on the other high wire diver with a 10″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Fairways Strong Fly. Our low wires both had the same combo except one of them was a glow blade. They both went twice. We had an 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly take a King on a 250 copper. We took a Coho on a 10 color core with a Natural Glow Dreamweaver Captain’s Choice Cut Plug and another Coho 65 down on the chute rigger with a Blue Splatter Back Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. We missed several strikes on our wire divers. We figure they were Coho’s. Our crew did a great job holding up through the storms and they didn’t lose a fish that hooked up. No spoon bites and no meat bites today. It was a Spin Doctor/Fly bite for us.
